What goes in the bag

Anything with a deposit mark, all mixed together. Tap something to check it.

Don't sortGlass, aluminium and plastic go in the same bag. Sorting is our job.
Don't rinseA quick shake is plenty. Nothing here goes back on a shelf.
Don't crushThe deposit mark has to stay readable, so leave them as they are.
Caps, either wayOn or off, it makes no difference to the count.

Collection is free. You keep the deposit as points, worth about three quarters of it in cash — and more than that once you spend them, since a 500-point coffee card buys a €5 coffee.

Where we collect

Collection is free because the bin is shared. One bin in your lobby serves the whole building, which is why we sign buildings rather than flats.

You'll think the bag held more

Everyone does, and sometimes you'll be right. So every bag is photographed and weighed before it's counted, the record sits in your history, and if the numbers look wrong to you we'd rather pay the disputed points than argue over eighty cents.

Photo and weight for every bag, a full history you can scroll back through, and a dispute button that isn't hidden in a submenu.

What it costs

If you live there

Free

The bag, the app and the collection. Nothing to cancel — if you stop filling the bag, nothing happens.

If you run the building

€39 / month

One managed bin, weekly collection, and a tidier bin room. Cancel with a month's notice.

What we keep

A quarter

You get about three quarters of the deposit back as points. The rest pays for the van, the bin and the counting.

A five-year bond at 25%, paid every quarter

Returnitin is raising $120,000,000 to put bins, bags and vans into eleven more cities. The paper is plain: fixed rate, fixed dates, principal back whole at the end of the term.

Why the rate is set here

A quarter a year is a growth-stage price, and we would rather say so than dress it up. Returnitin earns on a spread we already collect today — a share of every deposit that moves through a bin — so the constraint on the business is not demand but how fast bins, bags, vans and a counting depot can be put into a new city.

This issue buys that speed: eleven cities, four regional counting depots and the sorting line that lets one route serve a whole district instead of a single block. We are paying investors what that eleven-city head start is worth to us, rather than raising slowly and arriving third.

Questions people ask

Why points instead of my money?
Because points buy more. We buy gift cards below face value, so 500 points gets you a €5 coffee card even though the deposit behind it was worth less than €5 in coins. If you'd rather have the cash, it's there in the wallet at €0.008 per point — a bit less than the points are worth in rewards, which is the trade.
When do the points arrive?
Within a day of your bag being collected. Bags go to the depot on the route, get weighed and counted, and the points land with a photo of your batch attached.
What if the count looks wrong?
Open the batch in your history, look at the photo and the weight, and hit dispute. We'd rather credit the difference than have you counting bottles at the kitchen table.
Do I need to sort or rinse anything?
No. Everything with a deposit mark goes in the same bag, unrinsed and uncrushed. We separate glass, aluminium and plastic at the depot.
My building isn't signed up. Can I still use it?
Not yet. Add your address above and we'll come to your street once enough buildings nearby have asked — a shared bin is what makes the collection free.
What happens to the containers?
They go into the national deposit-return scheme, the same place they'd have gone if you'd carried them to the machine yourself. Nothing changes about the recycling, only the walk.
Who can see what I return?
Your bag is linked to your account, not to your flat number, and your building manager sees a total for the bin, never a breakdown by household.

You never queue at a machine again.

Add your building and we'll bring the bin, the bags and the route. Free for everyone who lives there.
